You know, we never did put "rules" online (though the only rule is write a piece of short fiction and post it to the forum before the end of the month, and then we all vote to see which we like best.) The thread (with prompt) for the current month is here: viewtopic.php?f=44&t=390

btw, for the dates, I prefer yyyy-mm-dd, but that is just how I file things

Under Write One Submit One, I only see submission and polling topics... I don't see an explanation anywhere. Is there a place that defines process? the dates for submission, voting, etc?

I wanted to use the ISO format yyyy-mm-dd, but a previous forum admin decided yy/mm/dd was the way to go. I just stuck with it.

The advantage of year-month-day is that computers can figure out how to order it without special programming. Otherwise, you end up with all the same day-of-the-month sorted together, or all the Mays of every year sorted together. And, yeah, took me a while to work out that that's how the dates were done.

And, Linda, be sure to bring Elle's number with you (she posted it in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=385 ) because her apartment complex is a smidge confusing and if you don't run into someone who's been there before, you're going to find it challenging to find her unit.

that doesnt explain the date for this meeting that states 12/05/15. that's what i meant by jumbled. I know Eurpoeans get the month and date backwards, but i never saw the year backwards before. It took me too long to see that one.

The "jumbled dates" in the meetings forum is because the forum defaults to putting the most recent at the top ... but you can sort by forum title, and it puts them in order.

Thanks Kyle. The calendar is blank on my screen and when i looked up the reading list in forums, the dates are so jumbled, including improbably years, I saw no way to tell which was current.

Howdy folks. Finally I have gotten out from under much of the stuff that has been taking too much of my time and energy and was planning on making the May 15 meeting - i actually have time to read the submissions, but I am not finding anything current in the que and dont see a meeting scheduled on the calendar. What did I miss?

Hi guys...I know I haven't been active like the past year, maybe 2 years - time goes by so fast. I promise I'll be at the next meeting. Trying to sort through the chaos of life right now and dealing with some inner (and outer) demons that have taken control of my life and thought process. The past year or so has been a struggle with a certain issue/habit and now making the needed changes. Hope nobody is mad at my "leave" and I'll be back to being active again!

I've always wanted transparent eyelids for those hours when I can't keep my eyes open but I'm wide awake and want to read. Of course, we'd need the regular eyelids still ... maybe with improved opacity for a better darkness ... "intelligent design" has room for improvement ...
